FastBloc2 Lab Edition
The FastBloc2 Lab Edition is not a portable solution. It installs into the analysis computer and connects via a FireWire port. FastBloc2 Lab Edition supports 3.5” ATA hard drives.
The computer industry is quickly retiring the Parallel ATA (PATA)/IDE interface, so we’ve revamped the popular FastBloc LE device. FastBloc2 Lab Edition still mounts in a standard 5.25” bay; however, it now connects to your forensic computer using the high-speed FireWire 800 (400 compatible) interface.*
This solution includes:
- Write-blocked — protects drive's contents by preventing disk writes. Uses industry-proven WiebeTech write-block firmware.
- Computer forensic software recognition— recognized and reported by EnCase software.
- ATA-5 and ATA-6 compatibility — acquire older suspect drives and the new, big drives as well.
- Durable anodized aluminum construction — briefcase-tough aluminum.
- LED status indicators — power attached, on and access are discernible at a glance. Access LED is red for easy monitoring of drive activity. Other LEDs are green.
- Plug and play — no new drivers necessary for usage with Windows 2000, XP, Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X and Linux distributions that support FireWire.
* Customers should be familiar with their computer forensic notebooks or workstations and recognize that a 64-bit FireWire card in a 32-bit PCI, PCMCIA or cardbus slot can decrease the transfer rate of IEEE1394b (800 Mbps) devices to the IEEE1394a transfer rate (400Mbps).
